THE TEAM
Chad North
Co-Founder
With over two decades of experience in the music industry, Chad North has built a career defined by versatility across composition, licensing, and publishing. He cut his teeth as a composer assistant for Hans Zimmer before navigating leadership roles at premier music houses in Los Angeles, New York, and Portland.
Currently an Executive Producer at the Clio Award-winning agency The Crystal Creative, Chad focuses on bridging the gap between artistic vision and commercial success, with a dedicated mission to help artists build sustainable careers.
When he’s off the clock, Chad is a proud father, a relentless soccer fan, and a craft beer enthusiast. A self-described "music-obsessed weirdo" and cinephile, he remains eternally fueled by great sound and even better stories.
Julia Henry
Co-Founder
Julia’s career in the music industry began in music supervision, eventually leading her to serve as Head of Creative for the Fox Sports Music Department. There, she spearheaded innovative marketing strategies, bridging the gap between major networks, artists, and global brands.
With a portfolio spanning television, theatrical trailers, and new media, Julia transitioned her expertise into producing large-scale national tours, experiential marketing campaigns, and live broadcast events. She has delivered high-impact live events and content for a blue-chip roster including Google, Microsoft, T-Mobile, and Live Nation.
Now based in Portland, Julia balances her professional drive with a love for the outdoors and the arts—whether she’s adventuring the world by motorcycle, playing music, snowboarding, or enjoying craft whiskey and time with her daughter.
Joe Duquette
Co-Founder
Joe Duquette is the consummate professional appreciator. Driven by a desire to champion talented creators, Joe traded North Carolina for Boston to earn his Master’s in Audio Production at Emerson College. His career took flight at Tom Hanks’ production company, Playtone, where he mastered the intricacies of music licensing under the mentorship of Deva Anderson and Delphine Robertson.
After relocating to Los Angeles, Joe spent seven years as a Music Researcher for Getty Images. There, he became a vital bridge between art and industry, pitching independent artists and composers to a diverse roster of global advertising and media clients.
Now based in Portland, Joe balances his professional background in licensing with a deep-rooted love for the local scene. When he isn’t at home with his family and a glass of bourbon, he’s likely side-stage, capturing the energy of the city’s live music as a photographer for Vortex Music Magazine.
Alena Slee
A&R, Creative Development
Alena is a Portland-based composer, producer, and advocate specializing in music for sync and sonic arts. A Pacific Northwest native, she got her start in the Seattle scene before moving to Portland to refine her craft at PCC (Class of 2026).
Under the mentorship of Brian Hall, Alena has produced music for major brands like Hyundai and the NCAA, while simultaneously serving as the Lead Student Advocate for the Music and Sonic Arts program—leading community events and protests to protect the program from closure.
When she’s not in the studio or teaching at the Electronic Music Club, Alena is likely free diving the Oregon coast, training at the gym, or adding to her curated tinned fish collection.
